FRANCESCO GEMINIANI
New York City based saxophonist Francesco Geminiani comes from beautiful Verona (IT) before moving to Switzerland and then the US. An endless musical curiosity drives him across styles and melodies, sharing the stage with great human beings across the New and the Old World. Inspired by the masters, he embraces impressionism to connect with the curious listener.

Born in beautiful Verona (Italy), he began his musical studies at an early age choosing the saxophone as his main instrument.
Subsequently, In 2009 Francesco won the Siena foundation scholarship, being selected as the recipient by a jury of top-level international jazz exponents.
After obtaining his diploma in Verona, in 2010 Francesco moved to Switzerland completing his studies at the “H.E.M.U. (Haute Ecole de Musique) of Lausanne”. During his stay in the Helvetic Land he established himself as one of the most in demand saxophone players, performing at events such as “Ascona jazz”, “Verbier Jazz Festival”, AMR jazz festival in Geneva and Montreux Jazz Festival. He was selected to take part in the “2011 DKSJ All Star Band of Switzerland”, performing at all the main Swiss’ jazz clubs (Bird’s Eye, Chorus, Musikantine, Mehrspur); this ensemble reunited the very best student instrumentalists resident in the country.
2012 was signed by several great recognitions: Francesco was the recipient of the F. Jost foundation award in merit of his outstanding work as a performer and consequently won in the same year the national “Zorzella Award”; a jazz soloist competition held in his hometown.
In the summer of 2012 he auditioned for the prestigious “New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music”, where he obtained a scholarship that enable him to move to New York City to accomplish his jazz and classical studies and dive into the active musical scene that only this city has to offer. In 2014 he obtained his Bachelor in arts with honorable mention.
Since his move to the US, Geminiani’s level of musicianship evolved excelling in the performing arts as well as in the demanding and sophisticated discipline of composition. With great musical guides, in 2014 he formed the Playwood chamber ensemble, for which he composed and arranged the entire repertoire successfully creating a unique blend of classical music and jazz that stands out for its originality. Within the last two years the band also performed events both in Italy and Switzerland.
In 2015 started the project “Colorsound”, this work has been entirely recorded and produced in New York City with some of the best up and coming young musicians: Rick Rosato and Bass and Mark Schilders on drums. His trio format has been heard in the New York and European jazz clubs during the winter tour in the end of 2015.
The Album Colorsound will be released in March 2018 by Auand records.
Francesco Geminiani besides is work as a leader stands out as an in demand tenor saxophonist of its generation. Constantly performing and recording internationally, he has been touring Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland and Slovenia; performed alongside some incredible musicians such as Eddie Henderson, Billy Cobham, Dado Moroni, Bill Stuart and Doug Weiss, and recorded several albums in the last years. He has also be seen on stage in different NY’s clubs such as Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Shapeshifter lab, Smoke jazz club, Brooklyn raga massive, NuBlu, DROM; and Europe, Marian’s jazzroom, Montreux jazz Festival, Ascona jazz Festival, AMR Sud des Alpes, Bird’s Eye jazz club Basel, Cantina Bentivoglio, Vicenza Jazz.

LUCA MANNUTZA
Nato a Cagliari nel 1968, si è avvicinato alla musica giovanissimo, grazie al padre che a soli 4 anni gli ha impartito i primi insegnamenti pianistici. Iniziati a 6 anni gli studi classici, nel 1979 si iscrive al Conservatorio “G.P. da Palestrina” di Cagliari e qui a 18 anni si diploma con ottimi voti. Dopo anni di varie esperienze, anche con gruppi di rock progressivo e fusion, si avvicina al jazz nel 1990, assecondando una naturale predisposizione all’improvvisazione e alla creatività. L’intensità della sua attività musicale in questo campo inizia a crescere due anni più tardi, quando comincia a suonare con il sassofonista argentino Hector Costita e incontra il trombettista di New York Andy Gravish, con il quale tuttora collabora. Nel 1993 comincia anche ad esibirsi al fianco dei migliori jazzisti italiani, tra cui Paolo Fresu, Emanuele Cisi, Maurizio Giammarco, Bebo Ferra. Tra gli importanti riconoscimenti conseguiti nei concorsi di jazz cui ha partecipato all’inizio della sua carriera, si possono elencare il Premio Ennio Porrino (1981), la menzione speciale della giuria al concorso Barga Jazz (2000), il primo premio nell’International Massimo Urbani Award (2002), il Premio del Pubblico nel Concorso Internazionale Tramplin Jazz di Avignone, Francia, come componente del quartetto del sassofonista Max Ionata (2002). Inoltre, nel 2002 a Parigi, si qualifica per la fase finale del concorso internazionale Martial Solal, la più prestigiosa fra le competition jazzistiche dedicate al pianoforte. Oltre ad esibirsi in piano solo, suona in duo con il sassofonista Max Ionata e in duo col batterista Lorenzo Tucci (Lunar duo),in trio con Luca Bulgarelli e Nicola Angelucci; inoltre co-dirige il quintetto Sound Advice insieme ad Andy Gravish, cui partecipano Marcello di Leonardo, Luca Bulgarelli e Max Ionata e guida un sestetto, Sound Six, con Max Ionata,Andy Gravish,Paolo Recchia,Andrea Nunzi e Renato Gattone. Dal 2002 fa parte di tanti importanti progetti del batterista Roberto Gatto, con cui si è esibito in numerosi concerti a livello internazionale, realizzando registrazioni per diversi album. Dal 2002 collabora a tutt’oggi stabilmente con Fabrizio Bosso, in qualità di organista e di pianista, e fa parte degli High Five, il gruppo più rappresentativo del successo del jazz italiano nel mondo, campione di vendite con l’album Five for Fun (Blue Note/EMI Italia 2007) e Handful of Soul (Schema 2006) insieme a Mario Biondi. Di rilievo è anche la collaborazione con il trombettista statunitense Jeremy Pelt. Luca Mannutza affianca la sua intensa attività live con quella di arrangiatore per vari artisti e progetti discografici, quali Mario Biondi, Rosalia de Souza, Filippo Tirincanti,Lorenzo Tucci. Luca Mannutza ha suonato nei più importanti jazz club italiani (Torrione Jazz Club, Panic Jazz Club, Cantina Bentivoglio, Alexanderplatz, Blue Note Milano, Pinocchio Jazz Club e molti altri) e nel mondo (Blue Note Tokio, Blue Note Osaka, Sunset e Sunside Parigi, Bimhuis Amsterdam, Pizza Express Londra, Smoke New York, Fat Cat New York) ed ha partecipato a numerose manifestazioni e festival ospite di prestigiose istituzioni come la Casa del Jazz (Roma), Umbria Jazz, Villacelimontana jazz, Moncalieri Jazz, Pescara Jazz Festival, Ancona Jazz Summer Festival, Roma Jazz Festival, Forma e Poesia nel Jazz (Cagliari), Bologna Jazz Festival, Padova Jazz Festival, Grey Cat Festival, Odio l’estate Festival, Vicenza Jazz, Festival Crossroads e molti altri in Italia e nel mondo (Jazz italiano a New York,Shangai 2010, Jakarta Jazz Festival,Dubai Jazz Festival,Parc Floral Parigi,Jazz Italiano a Pechino). Ha suonato con i piu’ importanti jazzisti italiani e stranieri ( Rava, Fresu, Bosso, Boltro, Tamburini, Amato, Scannapieco, Cisi, Giammarco, Bonisolo, Giuliani, DiBattista, Gatto, Sferra, Bonaccorso, B.Casini, Ferra, J.Pelt, J.Frahm, S.Grossman, J.D.Allen, G.Cleaver, D.Burno,B.Hart) e molti altri. Molti giornali e le maggiori riviste specializzate (Jazzit, Musica Jazz,Swing Journal,Jazz Magazine,All About Jazz) hanno recensito i suoi lavori discografici sottolineandone la bravura.

LORENZO CONTE
Contrabbassista formatosi al conservatorio Benedetto Marcello di Venezia, la sua città natale, Lorenzo Conte si dedica esclusivamente alla musica jazz da diversi anni.
Nella sua carriera ha collaborato con moltissimi musicisti sia europei che americani tra cui Enrico Rava, Jesse Davis, Eddie Henderson, Ronnie Mathews, Art Farmer, John Hicks, Harry Allen, Ronnie Cuber, Ferenc Nemeth, Mike LeDonne, Pietro Tonolo, Dado Moroni, Gianni Basso, Steve Grossman, Rosario Giuliani, Flavio Boltro, Slide Hampton, Bobby Watson, Fabrizio Bosso, Joel Frahm, Bob Sheppard, Steve Ellington e altri.
Ha suonato a lungo con il quartetto di Tom Kirkpatrik, ha collaborato con il quartetto di Eliot Zigmund ”Planet Four ” con Chris Cheek e Frank Locrasto. ha suonato con il quartetto europeo di Bobby Watson con il pianista Andrea Pozza e il batterista cubano Francisco Mela, il quartetto di Bob Sheppard con Anthony Pinciotti alla batteria.
Nella sua attivita’ discografica si possono ascoltare cd con il batterista Bobby Durham con il flautista Sam Most e l’altista Lee Konitz, il tenor sassofonista Robert Bonisolo.
Con il trio di Eliot Zigmund, con cui ha collaborato diversi anni, ha all’attivo il cd “Spring Jazz Trio”.

ANTHONY PINCIOTTI
Anthony Pinciotti is a dynamic, innovative drummer well versed in jazz, rock, and world music. Based in New York City, Anthony performs and tours extensively with many of the most vital and forward looking musicians on the scene today. Some of the notable musicians Anthony has worked with are: James Moody, Dr. Lonnie Smith, John Abercrombie, Joe Lovano, Randy Brecker, Ira Sullivan, Kenny Werner, Mose Allison, Lew Tabackin, John Patitucci, Jim Hall, Bob Mintzer, Renee Rosnes, George Garzone, Frank Foster, Benny Golson, George Mraz, Houston Person, Toninho Horta, Jerry Bergonzi, Lynne Arriale, Gary Bartz, Rufus Reid, Vic Juris, Dave Liebman, Kenny Barron, and Sheila Jordan to name a few.
Anthony’s passion for music became apparent when at the age of two he began playing the drums. At the age of thirteen, he started playing professionally throughout the Midwest, working with many Motown and Midwestern jazz greats. By the age of sixteen Anthony had started working with the great multi-instrumentalist Ira Sullivan and soon after relocated to Miami, Florida to be his drummer. After being offered a full music scholarship, Pinciotti briefly attended the University of Miami. In 1994, Anthony moved to Chicago where he quickly became a highly sought after drummer who was consistently called on to back jazz masters touring through the area. In addition to being an in-demand sideman, he also led several successful groups containing members of the AACM and the Art Ensemble of Chicago. Anthony made the move to New York in 1998 and began working and touring internationally with many of the great musicians that make up the New York jazz scene. He has played at many of the most renowned venues and festivals around the world as well as appearing on numerous recordings. Anthony is also deeply committed to teaching and mentoring. He has given clinics and master classes around the world, as well as teaching at NYU, City University of New York (CUNY) and the New School for Jazz and Contemporary music. Through his love of music, meditation and metaphysics, Anthony came to realize the healing power of music, drumming and vibration. He began doing healing drum sessions and sonic meditations with people of all ages and now has clients across the country. He is married with a son and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
